A $2.8 million gold statue of Kate Moss “Siren”will soon be unveiled at the British Museum exhibition. Sculptor Marc Quinn explains his reasoning for choosing Moss as his subject matter and it goes something like this….“she was the closest model to human perfection he could find”. Ah huh, didn’t look hard! The sculpture is rumored to be the largest gold statue to be created since the era of Ancient Egypt. I wonder if Kate will be shocked she weighs 50kg?

A Bob Marley statue has just been unveiled in a Serbian village of all places, as a token of peace in the Balkans. The statue, by Croatian artist Davor Dukic, was erected in the town of Banatski Sokolac at midnight. It depicts the Rastafarian holding a guitar, with his fist raised in defiance. And if you think this is the first pop culture icon to be bronzed in Serbia you would be mistaken. Other nearby villages can also boast statues of Johnny Weissmuller (doing a Tarzan) and Sylvester Stallone (doing a Rocky Balboa). The Stalone statue was deliberately chosen in attempt to stop the village’s run of bad luck ,basically the locals thought the town was jinxed (Gosh, it’s not like Stalone’s had any luck lately?). But not to be out done Bosnia has one of Bruce Lee.

Yep, it finally happened, Milwaukee has honored their most celebrated hero “The Fonz” (aka Arthur Fonzarelli) , by dipping him in bronze.A life size statue of the leather jacket wearing “Happy Days” character was dedicated on Tuesday and now stands proudly along the Milwaukee River. This huge event for Milwaukee wouldn’t have happened if not for two booster groups, VISIT Milwaukee and Spirit Milwaukee, who pushed really hard to raise money for the statue, including a website selling “Bronze the Fonz” t-shirts. Henry Winkler, the actor who played “The Fonz” said the statue was “one of the great honors of all-time.”

For trivia buffs, no scenes were ever filmed in the city, despite it being set there (it was an LA production). It was, however ,the home town of the show’s executive producer, Thomas L. Miller. Tom Bosley and Henry Winkler were the only two cast members to appear in every episode.
